Every now and again (maybe every 3rd or 4th time) when I open a new tab in Chrome I get this notification saying it's updated. Clicking "Okay, got it" doesn't stop this from popping up. Getting on my nerves. Anyone having the same issue?

I had a look around about this issue, seems to be a couple solutions to which I'll list.

One of the reasons this could be happening is below.

This happens if you have set your privacy settings to delete cookies and data when you exit Chrome.
It appears that Chrome is using a data entry to remember that "Ok, got it" and that Chrome's own privacy settings can block that entry.
This seems like a complete no-brainer, must-fix, stupid-mistake-in-the-first-place type issue.
BTW: adding google.com (and in my case also google.co.nz) to the exceptions list doesn't fix it... so not only is Chrome blocking it's own data, it's not named properly either. Great.

Here's what I found, perhaps could you try them and report to us if either fixed your problem.

1. Various people report this extension to fix it : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/show-apps-in-new-tab/nohbdifokmdgjcbbeobglcbaifinhfip
2. Scroll to the bottom of this article with the chrome://flags/ step. http://googlesystem.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/changes-to-chromes-new-tab-page.html

Never seen that notification before, however, I don't like the new update anyway. I preferred the NTP and Apps at the swipe of the mouse, not separate pages.
