App Review CryptoPrevent Free vs malware Encryptors

It is advised to take all reviews with a grain of salt. In extreme cases some reviews use dramatization for entertainment purposes.

CryptoPrevent works by writing 200+ group policies into various places in the system to block malware from starting, so it is understandable that it might not work against newer variants that drop their files elsewhere.

Absolutely correct. The software author is one of the few that is totally and completely upfront in stating that some Ransomware will not be stopped by CP, and that is much to his credit. In addition I know that the software is actively maintained to stop newer threats by the pushing out of definitions (when CryptoWall 3 first came out CryptoPrevent had a stop for it within 48 hours or so).

The purpose of this Video is not to be a hatchet-job on CryptoPrevent, the software itself being very elegant and the author honorable, but instead to curtail any unrealistic expectations of the user.
