DavePC's Security Config

Maybe just a bit, I've been thinking of getting rid of one (or both) of the Anti Exploits, but they don't do any harm, so I don't see a point just yet. They are all pretty light weight also, so I don't mind having them run in the background. That, and once and a while I do forget to use common sense, so its better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone by the way, and I look forward to be part of the MalwareTips community!

Looks Good but I agree with the real time overkill. I would keep ESS and use MBAM as on demand.
Thanks for sharing your config :)

Hello and welcome. Since your having problems with Windows Backup, are you currently using any other backup software?

Hey Everyone, thanks for the feedback.

No, I'm not running any other backup software, and when I was infected 6 months ago, I wasn't running this setup actually, my on demand scanners were the same, but instead of using ESET, I was using Norton Internet Security. Switched back to Comodo IS for a while, and now I've decided to use ESET.

After running sfc /scannow, it didn't detect any corrupted files.

However, resetting Windows Backup did fix my problem, so a huge thank you Illumination.

I have gotten rid of HMP Alert and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit, I don't really have a use for them.

And yes- my protection is a bit overkill, and yes- I would say I'm paranoid- mostly because I've been infected a lot in the past, and its a bit PIA to disinfect my system.

By the way, for a VPN- how is Private Internet Access? They do have servers in my city, so that is a big plus for me.

You are more then welcome.. A lot of us here have no room to judge over-kill configs, as we have run plenty ourselves ;) If it runs fine on your system, and for your needs and you are comfortable with it, then you are good to go, especially now having back up rolling..
