Dell announces Alienware 13, 15 and 17 Windows 10 gaming laptops, and graphics amplifier

Last night at PAX West, taking place in Seattle between Sep 2 - 5, Dell took the wraps off three new Alienware gaming laptops with Windows 10. First up is the Alienware 17, with an emphasis on screen size, gaming performance and overall immersion. This flagship offering comes with "overclocked Intel Core i7 processors" and DDR4 memory running up to 2667 Mhz. it also features anti-smudge finishes and Windows Hello, so you can log onto your device with a scan of your face, rather than typing passwords, making security more convenient and natural.

Other features include:
  • Powered by Windows 10
  • Optional IR Tobii eye-tracking technology adds great accessibility features based on where you’re looking
  • Intel Core i7 processors and DDR4 memory running up to 2667 Mhz
  • New speaker design includes internal smart-amps that monitor audio waveforms, enabling the use of the entire thermal margin of the speaker for stronger sound
The Alienware 17 with Windows 10 will be available in the coming weeks and starts at $1,499.99.

Next up is the Alienware 15 with Windows 10, which comes with graphics options from AMD and NVIDIA, including the VR-ready NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060. It features a 15.6” FHD, IPS Anti-Glare, 300-nits display, additional options include FHD 120Hz display with NVIDIA G-Sync for incredibly smooth, synchronized frame rates and UHD IGZO for 4k resolutions. Built to be on-the-go, its exceptional battery life keeps it going with a 68 watt-hour lithium ion battery and an optional 99 watt-hour battery to enable extended gameplay when away from a plug.

The Alienware 15 with Windows 10 will be available in the coming weeks and starts at $1,199.99.

The smaller of the three, Alienware 13 may be the brand’s smallest notebook, but with some big improvements. Configurable with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series graphics, and aggressive design will offer one of the most compact VR-ready devices ever. Offering gaming at high resolutions and trillions of LED lighting combinations through eight unique programmable lighting zones with up to 20 distinct colors.

The Alienware 13 with Windows 10 will be available in the coming weeks and starts at $899.99.

Dell also announced that the Alienware Graphics amplifier is compatible with the above laptops and offers the following features:
  • Amplify your performance: Step up your graphics performance with support for a full-length, double-wide, desktop graphics card.
  • Hook up your favorite displays: The graphics amplifier allows you to enjoy the performance of the desktop graphics card on your Alienware 13, 15 and 17 R2 & R3 notebooks LCD or on any external display connected to the amplifier.
  • Plug into a battle station: The Alienware Graphics Amplifier connects to your notebook with a single cable enabling the PCI-Express graphics card connection as well as your four USB 3.0 ports to be connected with less clutter and simple connectivity.
  • Unlock the new world of VR gaming on your notebook: By increasing your graphics performance the Alienware Graphics Amplifier can unlock the exhilarating world of VR gaming on your 15 & 17 notebooks and X51 R31.
