I used the discount for BitDefender here:

I got BitDefender 2013 for $.13. It seems too good to be true. I'm worried that I gave out my information and am worried about fraud or something. I set up a paypal account today and paid through that.

I also disabled auto-renew before checking out.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but it was such a good deal, I didn't even stop to think about it.

Should I be worried?

Nope you did not get scammed. Its a valid offer I suppose. If you got the license then well and good and if not it means u were scammed.
In case you are worried, do the following.
1- You did a transaction by a VISA/MASTER Credit or Debit Card.
Change the password for Verified by Visa service or the master card secure banking service.
2- You did a transaction by Internet Banking
Then change your net banking password.

Tips:- Check the giveaway and be sure and be attentive on sites. Ask your bank if they have multi factor authentication for transactions.
I dont know about your country but here in India most banks sent you a one time pin via sms to your phone for authorizing your transaction. Also, some banks give a small tool like a calculator which generates a one time use no. as a password. Some banks also provide for making a one time use credit card.

Also incase you did have a VISA/MASTER card please make sure you have master card secure code or verified by visa service on. You can call your bank for further assistance and help for enabling this services. This is of utmost importance as this can thwart many scams. DO IT AT ONCE and dont use the card without doing it. Its a simple process and takes a matter of 2-3 mins.

Hope you are relived.

I still wonder why 13 cts instead of free...

Because they can get your credit card number and put you automatic renewal. Most users will forget to cancel the automatic renewal and automatically get charged. It it like a way to trick users into a sale.

Thanks.:D

Thanks everyone. Thanks for the Visa and MasterCard tips Malbky.

So I think I'm safe...I cancelled auto renewal on BitDefender website and avangate, and no auto renewal shows up on paypal.
