Hi all,
Next days, I want to purchase a smartphone called Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. It's cheap compare with others vendors with strong hardware. But before, I heard that Xiaomi stole user's data, I always never have good trust with Chinese company (Sorry to said that). Do you trust this vendors? Please give me an advice. Very appreciate!
Thanks!

I am using Xiaomi's:-
1) Mi4i phone
2) Mi Band
3) Mi PowerBank
4) Mi LED
5) Redmi Note 2

And I trust the company tht they produce quality products. That's my main. .

Every company collects user data.

If you need peace of mind then why don't just buy that phone and use some other ROM?
Trusting is a different story.

Some vendors charge you 4 times to provide same hardware and still collects user data and people thinks since they are paying more they are the safest when it comes about privacy.

Xiaomi is one of a well known mobile makers in China and when it comes for trust then as always an isolated case to improve the services or conduct analytic; quality of their products isn't affected for that rather some users I've encounter have good feedback on the performance and reliability.

The link from Quora regarding on the question, then definitely its an user opinion/commentary cause my aunt's smartphone does not experience any issues to that.

Before you even buy the phone try finding out if u are going to like their custom rom. They produce decent devices for its price however you will might find that their custom rom uses more battery.
Huawei on the other hand has way less issues compared to similar xiaomi devices.

Personal opinion I would buy huawei over xiaomi anytime but on same token would not buy a Samsung.

As for the stealing data comment xiaomi is not the only one. The stealing data topic just get ridiculously out of hand each time but people then forget other companies did that too and well you know the drill.

Even MS does collect info/telemetry about my phone and sent to MS. If you've installed field medic, open field medic, tap on view reports and flick to the left and you'll get uploads section and find what report was sent, be it app crashing, huge battery drain etc. I even sent a diagnostic report to fix battery drain issue.

@Inkurax: For sure the high end models of Huawei but not on those 'Media Pad' where my experience is horrible on a newly purchased product, the specification are likely promising however opposite when the phone has turned on.

For Xiaomi, I should agree that custom roms will prone on some issues cause its been developed more aggressive where other factors affected.
