It would be ignorant to not have System Restore on since some Windows Updates required it to be on or they will fail. Also other programs may required System Restore to be on. You also can not roll back on previous Windows system drivers without System Restore on.

I don't use it very much but it is good to have it just in case, it can solve many problems.

Thanks.:D

I always keep in turned ON, but never used it!

I hardly ever use it but it is always on but it's off currently since I have RBRX

Turned off, each time i needed it to restore something it failed to do it properly, not saying the time it takes.

I did a fresh and clean install of Win7, then turned it off, installed Rollback RX right away.

I never had any issues with Windows Updates as Littlebits said but effectively some softwares need it but they skip the procedure if System Restore is turned off.

System Restore : ON , C:\ only.

Old SR Points deleted with Windows Disk Cleanup or CCleaner.

As far as I know System Restore causes no problems with third-party backup and restore software. Not all software will skip the procedure to create system restore point, they will simply fail to install properly sometimes without warning. You won't notice there is a problem until one pops up.

It is true sometimes System Restore will fail to fix system problems especially when a security product interferes with it usually caused by security software boot drivers. Usually running System Restore from Windows Safe Mode will bypass the boot drivers and allow it to do its job correctly. Sometimes it may take awhile to restore your system, but it is still much faster than having to do all of the work manually.

System Restore will not restore personal files that get corrupted or deleted because it is best to use a third-party software to back up your personal files and hard drive images in addition to System Restore.

I recommend an external hard drive to save backups.

For system stability, it is best to always have System Restore on.
That applies to most users because they usually don't have any other backup solutions.

Thanks.:D

I totally agree with Littlebits.I too have it turned on but never really use it.Its there if you need it,doesnt cost, and isnt hurting anything by being on.
