has anyone tried DOSBox-X in Linux? It is offered in fedora software center app, and seems like it might run some older DOS astronomy apps. The DOS app developer died so they never ran correctly as Windows progressed. I have (had) a DOS computer but either its power source or hdd or motherboard just gave up. It's in an awkward location so have not taken it apart yet. My project for 2025 unless DOSBox-X works.

Yes, DOSBox-X works quite well on Linux, including Fedora. It's designed to emulate older DOS systems, so it should run your DOS astronomy apps without any issues. Just make sure to check the compatibility and configuration settings. It might be a good solution to revive your old DOS apps without the need to fix your old computer.
