Question Emsisoft has not received product updates in two months?

Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
I got an email a few days ago regarding the Mac overage:

Emsisoft Blog
... & to me (fwiw) Emsisoft's blog reads like they remain on top of things. I let my license lapse a couple of months ago, but emsi for business was fast and "perfect" for me, no issues. ChatGPT said do not concern yourself re your mini with M4 chip

Emsisoft is on life support, where are the dev's who use to frequent forums like these? They are gone like the wind. Forum shut down? Never a good sign.

I'm not sure why they pivoted from home users to enterprise when main money making base was home users and I doubt they have many enterprise users.

It's sad because I really have a soft spot in my ❤️ for Emsisoft, but when they reneged on license loyalty discounts you knew something was up.

Honestly they should of sold out or merged near their peak years ago, time has passed them by because their BB is now implemented by all AV/AM now.

Sad 😥

well I have no inside info about emsi. I used their business version as it has a feature I liked, and the one or 2 times I asked for support they were timely with good info. And emsi gets good reports from AVLab.pl

Yeah I know they still exist, I just wish they had grown on the huge loyalty and support that they had from home users back in the day due to having a superior product.

They sort of just abandoned the home user base to focus on enterprise, it's sad to just waste all that good will and positive user experiences..

Up until June, I remember them posting updates to the program every month. But after that, It's only been every two or three months. Obviously, things are slowing down a bit, at least for now.

I was a loyal Emsisoft user for many years. But it bothers me that they're now only tested by AVLab. Almost all antivirus programs pass their tests. Without tests from AV Comparatives and AV-Test, I can't judge how good or bad Emsisoft is compared to other well-known antivirus programs. I'm aware of the concerns about these testing organizations. But they do at least give an idea of where a particular program stands compared to other vendors. I know that Emsisoft considers the costs of participating in tests too high for their small company. But the lack of performance evaluation for Emsisoft is a reason for me to stop using their program.

I have a valid subscription to Emsisoft and I'm subscribed to their newsletter, but I no longer receive emails about product update. I also checked their website for product updates and the last update was in September.

Any thoughts on that?
I recommend wearing a helmet until Emsisoft drops their next product update—no need to test your luck, my friend, @Divine_Barakah! 😊

Now would be an amazing time for malwarebytes and Emsisoft to talk about coming together. Malwarebytes would befit from the behavior blocker and Emsisoft would benefit from the browser guard website blocking.
When the 'M'ouse told his friends he was dating an 'E'lephant, they said, "You've got guts!" He replied, "No, just a big imagination!" 😊

Honestly, their support is excellent. But their product generates tons of FPs.

Are there any real indicators that Emsisoft is in financial troubles?

The product is still great but it maybe lacks of some advanced features, it is heavy when scanning and the webprotection is not that great. On the other hand it has a clean UI, no bloatware, no VPN hysteria and a very nice and professional centralized management webconsole. The home version shares the most settings with the business version. So no seperate versions like many others. Their main market is small to medium-sized businesses.

I tested this year the Business Security version. The detection was great but had some troubles with new samples (not detected by signatures).

It is still on my favorite list.

Now this is what I hate, forgive me if I have this wrong.... A few years ago, it seemed Emsisoft bought a VERY GOOD product.

That product was someone's baby.... They created it, it would have been their passion, they made it great because it was their idea, their blood and sweat went into the product...

THEN, it seems they got into a financial strain... They needed to sell their creation to someone else. But whenever you do this, sell your passion to someone else, it always changes everything.

It is not their passion as it was once yours, it has become a business transaction...

The purchase was made, the product changed, some people liked the changes some did not, it chugged along for a while... And now we are at the end of the trail. The product may never be the same again...

Never sell your project, your baby.

Sorry but Emsisoft health is terminal, it's basically a dead product. You knew it was in trouble when it started canceling discounts for 3 year subscriptions 7-8 years ago.

Once were great even industry leading but it's been left behind and left a trail of great software that it bought and is now dead or not developed. And as someone mentioned above when you pull out and boycott AV testing sites and only participate in tests that you know you will pass it's like you are trying to hide something but everyone knows anyway.

Where is Fabian? He is a ghost now and never comes on forums like he did in the past.

Sad but times but move on!
