Doesn't look like the vaunted Windows 8 "safe boot" worked with that police ransom ware. Tester didn't do any url's so the web filter could do it's thing, either.

UEFI is required for Secure Boot, I don't think that's available when testing Windows 8 in a VM. Hence why you see the malware upon reboot.

Probably right about VM, but if secure boot uses the same detection methods as the rest of Microsoft's security products....
