Facebook testing 'highlight' feature, lets users pay $2 to promote their status

Highlight could show Facebook’s willingness to try more aggressive ways of making money, which should delight potential investors. But Facebook is playing with fire here. The service has always been free for users, and a pay-for-popularity feature could be a huge turn off, especially to its younger and less financially equipped users who couldn’t afford such narcissism.

Isn't selling our info to advertisers enough? :( I guess many facebook users are infected with malware, including keyloggers, so that puts your credit cards into risk.

EDIT: Tried to highlight. It didn't ask me for any payment.

At first I thought it was a scam or something........makes no sense....... nevertheless I bet their will be some people who will actually pay ....
