Fake Firefox update email - don't click, or you may have your passwords stolen

Although we see some very sneaky social engineering tricks used by scammers and cybercriminals on occasions, designed to trick users into making unwise decisions, we also see some very basic attempts at online crime.

Take, for instance, this email which was spammed out this weekend pretending to be an advisory about a new update to the popular Firefox web browser.

This is pretty basic phishing if you ask me. People could easily figure out it's fake even if they're inexperienced, I mean come on, why would you get an update notification via email for a web browser you might not even use (especially since most email services like Gmail and Yahoo will most likely mark it as spam, also that you most likely never gave them your email address). Spammers aren't getting more advanced, they're actually going more basic now (well, these guys are anyway).
