This is not a lifetime offer .... only 6 months Just beware , if you choose to purchase this when the license runs out, Folder lock is no longer a single purchase based software , they have converted to a subscription based licensing system and IMO, looking at what they are wanting for a yearly subscription ...... they are VERY PROUD of their product. Personally, to me, it's not worth the yearly price, especially considering when you look at previous versions of Folder Lock and how sparingly it was updated over the years. Created in 2002 and in twenty one years it only got to version 7 before switching licensing, that speaks volumes and tells me there may be a little bit of greed involved with their new subscription licensing , and really, version 10 is really no different than V7 which was the last single purchase license version, besides, makes me wonder why did they skipped from 7 to 10? where did versions 8 and 9 go? Only thing different from V7 to 10 is they updated the GUI a little bit and added cloud and mobile encryption but I really cannot see using this as a mobile app the software is still too clunky to use on mobile in my opinion, otherwise the two versions are the same. I'll give it a run for six months then dump it and convert back to 7 . I own a lifetime license of version 7 , the GUI is a little clunky but it does the job very well and still works on Windows 11. I am sure V10 works very well also but I am not handing them my wallet to keep it. UPDATE: Looks to me like when the 6 month license expires it will revert to their "free" version which I guess if you speak word salad would make it free for life. But once that 6 month license expires you will lose a lot of the software's full version functionality in which case you'd be better off with something else or Folder Lock 7. If you don't plan on keeping it just make sure you decrypt everything you have encrypted with it before the license runs out because once it reverts to free you may lose whatever you have encrypted if you don't decrypt it. Folder Lock uses a proprietary file extensions flk, flka, flkb, flkw and flwa , meaning without their software the encrypted file is rendered useless, it cannot be opened with anything else.
