Forum Shoutbox

I am sure this has been discussed but has anyone considered a Shoutbox on the Portal & Forum Home Pages.I dont know if MyBB has one or you can use an Ajax one on here.Reason I am asking is that I have always enjoyed using one without having to leave the Home and portal pages.I enjoy conversing with members while online and think it brings members together on a more personal level.They can be resized to use minimal space.It is just a thought and I do realize some don't like them.

There used to be a shoutbox on the forum, however I think it was eating up server resources. I may be wrong on that but it was removed for some reason.

What Tom said, but also I think we don't have it because that is what the actual chat room is for.

I cant find the chat room anymore,it used to be under the NavBar with House rules ect.

That surely did put stress on the server. Did for me when I was running it.

Yes but remember that we were upgraded to a new server.

I have always used one and never had a huge strain.I just thought it would be a nice feature to have where conversations could be had without using PM or email and still be on the forum home page or portal page.I think most members here are mature enough to not abuse it or cause problems.Keep it moderated and pruned and it should be fine.
