"Safer Internet Day," which you most likely didn't mark on your calendar. Google remembered Safer Internet Day, though. To celebrate, it has brought back the free data reward for completing a security audit of your account. A few minutes of your time gets you an extra 2GB of Drive storage for free.

The security checkup is painless and only takes a few minutes. You'll review your account recovery options, connected devices, services with permissions on your account, and 2-step verification settings. The 2GB of storage might not show up in your account immediately, but when it does, it will be there permanently.

I don't currently use Google Drive but it is a great service (as long as it's not used to share files - Google allows this but it gets locked down if there are too many downloaders). 17GB in total is not enough to satisfy my needs (I currently use MEGA with it's 50GB free), but I'm sure I'll find a use for it down the road. Thanks for the heads up @Rishi I never pay attention to the Google side of things.

Really, how much space would one really utilize? I'm only utilising 3Gb of 25Gb on my Dropbox.

@OokamiCreed, have you been using Mega for a long time and how is it?

Using 25.36GB and I could easily add more (like my ISO images for Windows, etc). MEGA has always worked fine for me. The "Used bandwidth" never goes above 0% so I have no idea why they even show it. As far as I'm concerned, there is no bandwidth limit (unless they only consider shared links as bandwidth used - which I don't do). Used to have some problems with MEGA sync client but they have fixed uses like upload stalls, download stalls, etc. Download speed is very good, upload speed is very good. MEGA allows streaming via its client. Allows you to choose which application on your PC that will play it. Including a browser (the default on MEGA). Should work with video, music, and images.
