Today I had a little mishap : I accidentely spilled a mug of tea over my windows seven laptop and mostlikely the motherboard has had a burnout....after three years of service it is time to say good bye to my loyal companian , which I have intensely used. hope I can extract the files which reside on the d drive on that machine.....a friend of mine is an it specialist , so maybe he can help me out

may you find your peace in tech-heaven acer aspire 5336

Remove the internal HDD and hook it up to a working PC, you may need to purchase a HDD enclosure.

On the subject, how many years would you have kept your laptop, if it were in operating condition?

Worst case if the HDD fell down from a floor or any hard surface caused its impact have no chance to recover.

Just be sure the HDD itself is dried out before checking it.

Hopefully you'll learn from your mistake and not spill a beverage of any sort onto anymore laptops.

If you end up getting a new laptop do share with us which one you get as a replacement.

No, no. I don't beg my parents to buy me such things. My parents used to give me money as a gift for a goal I achieve in studying. That first happened when I was 7 years old, and I never knew for what I can spend them. It was not spent until the last year, when I bought my tablet. Then I bought the phone 6 months ago and I broke the two devices. :D I am afraid about anything I buy with those money in the future. :(

Anyway I knew how should I spend them next time, on things that don't distract me while studying. I am trying to stand on my feet to be a good guy in studying again, on't worry. :)

I have bought a cheap one once again a compaq cq 58 , I know its nothing special , but I do not game or use any heavy design programs or something like that , so it forfills all of my needs. plus when I download movies or stuff like that , the will go straight to my external harddrive : seagate back up plus 1 tb.

here are the specs of my new laptop :
