What an ultimate waste of millions of good money. Next time, check w/me first, Google, as I may have better uses for that cash.

Eehh this list makes things look worse than they are. A lot of these projects got integrated and recycled into the bigger branches and brands. For example there was no point of having Google Videos and YouTube coexist. Data Saver is becoming useless since it does not compress encrypted sites and vast majority of the web is now encrypted other than a few ancient websites. Google Goggles died and got revived as Google Lens and it's everywhere now instead of being a separate app.

It's not the projects that count, but the ideas and the good ideas continued to live on. :)

Update: Data Saver still exists! It has been integrated into Chrome and is now called Lite Pages

Google+ and Reader - never understood why they have killed them.
Reader was one of the best RSS readers out there and G+ had a potential to be FB killer.
