The Anti-Google Squad: "we told you so". Blah blah blah. "I don't use Google, except for Youtube." or "I'm avoiding Google products, yet I use Android".

By default, you're targeted.

If you know how-to:
  1. On Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, Chrome users, you can disallow Chrome (mobile) & Chrome (win32 app) from accessing your hardware & accessories -- chrome://settings/content
  2. On Windows 10, you can disable Store apps from accessing your hardware too, from the Settings > Privacy options.
  3. Optionally, disable or uninstall the drivers. Or rip the hardware from your Laptop/PC -- careful it might void your warranty. LOL
Not a fool-proof method, but what do I know. I use Google services, Chrome browser and Android.

Here's my very unpopular opinion, I think it's very impressive that Google can utilise technology in this manner. Other tech companies and government agencies probably do the same, but Google is likely to have the most data on you, bigger than Facebook.

Side joke:
Imagine the horror on the paranoid PC users' faces.

What else can you even use for mobile phones? I hate Apple, so only option left is Android. The rest of proprietary OS are just plain useless. There is nothing else there. You can literally only sack the permissions and block Google apps from connecting. Some have to, but not all. If you can sack some communication, that's better than nothing.

EDIT:
Just checked and Android phone still works even when you remove all permissions from even essential Google apps. I've also removed nearly all permissions from Xiaomi apps, even "essential" ones and everything seems to work just fine. Which kinda shows how many unnecessary permissions we give to everything (or is given by default) for no good reason.

On laptop I tape over camera and disable microphone driver.

I disabled them on Android, but I expect little privacy, it is Google. Yeah, those apps ask for so many useless permissions, I disabled nearly all of them.
