Appearing on Slashleaks, we see a phone that very much looks like the smaller Pixel 7, though the dimensions and proportions, especially of the camera cutout in relation to the bar, are ever so slightly different. Meanwhile, there does not appear to be a (microphone) cutout to the left of the flash, which itself is not as close to the right edge. It’s in line with the renders that leaked in late November.

Per the Settings app, this device is running Android 13 and identified as a “Pixel 7a” and a “DVT1.0.” As a design validation test, it’s further along the development process than an engineering validation test (EVT) unit. The device language is set to Vietnamese, with Vietnam being a country that Google increasingly wants to shift Pixel hardware production to. Notably, the A-series is already “Made in Vietnam,” including the Pixel 4a, 5a, and 6a.

Quote from Pixel 7a leaks in official-looking images showing off blue color [Gallery]
The Pixel 7a shares the same shape and screen bezels as the Pixel 6a, but does see a couple of tweaks. The camera bar is lower this time around, and also matches the design of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro with a metal bar that has a cutout for the camera module. It looks like the bar will be matte, matching the Pixel 7. Expected in that camera bar is an upgraded primary sensor, as we previously reported.

Most notable here is the blue color variant which we’ve not yet seen.

Also somewhat notable is the frame of the device, which changes it shade a bit more between color variants this year. And also like the Pixel 6a, there are antenna bands along the frame, all but confirming that it will be made of metal.

You can get the Pixel 7 at Amazon for $449. Why pay $499 for the 7a?

Why pay $499 for the 7a?
In theory it's going to be a more refined (smaller, more mature, better hardware) Pixel 7 with better camera going on previous PixelA releases.

Why pay that much? You probably won't to be honest. Pixels are always discounted almost immediately after launch. Unlike Apple, Google will cut prices for faster adoption and to gain more market share.
