This is probably my "to-go" hard drive diagnostic utility. Whenever I suspect a hard drive or SSD failure, I make the user run GSmartControl's Extended Test and post the results (if failure isn't already detected).
Everytime I suspected hard drive issues with a computer, GSmartControl proved me right. It might not be updated anymore, but it still does a good job if all you want is a clear "Pass or Fail" answer on the current SMART state of a drive.
