Grand Theft Auto Online has run into a spot of trouble as its servers struggle to cope with heavy demand from players.

Rockstar has posted an official update on its site acknowledging the problems and listing out the issues it is aware of and attempting to correct.

The majority of the issues revolve around gaining access to said servers and generate error messages such as "Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable", "Failed to Host a GTA Online Session" or "Timed out when matchmaking for a compatible GTA Online Session to join".

There are also problems with staying connected with Rockstar admitting to miscellaneous network and server-related error messages, disconnections, or cloud server errors. The game developers updated the site at 6am BST to add:

"We are continuing to look into these issues and are working around the clock on resolving them as quickly as possible. This includes close monitoring of our Support systems, forums, social media, and in-game data to measure traffic along with Community sentiment to ensure ongoing improvements to stability."

Other parts of the game were affected too, like unable to save Selfies with Snapamatic. :P

I've given up on GTA V Online, until there's another fix. /frustrated.

I've lost 3 characters and have done the tedious Intro / Tutorial about 5 times already. The servers are a hit or miss, and games saves on stored on their servers -not locally-.
