'The death toll from a university gun rampage continues to climb, with as many as seven people now dead and several others injured following a shooting spree at a private religious college outside San Francisco.
Heavily armed police swarmed into Oikos University in Oakland, California, where the gunman launched his assault in a classroom about 10.30am local time. A suspect has since been arrested.
The suspect has been identified by San Francisco news station KTVU as former Oikos student One Goh, an American citizen of Korean origin. Police believe he was the sole shooter. He is said to have surrendered soon after the attacks.'
'Oakland police chief Howard Jordan said the 43-year-old from Oakland "commandeered a victim’s car, and drove it to Alameda".
Jordan said the suspect was believed to be a former student at the college with no previous criminal record. ‘‘He is a Korean national,’’ Jordan said, without specifying if he was from South or North Korea.'
