Security researchers at ESET and Sophos have discovered that hackers have gone out of their way to port an old Linux backdoor trojan to the Mac OS X platform, extending their reach of computers that they can use as part of their botnets.

Mac users really needs to be careful now especially with this backdoor getting ready for release.

Yeah that is true. Mac and Linux users will have to watch it now.

Hackers were tried to improved the old trojan since its one of barely produced in Linux Operating System.

Definitely not good news for both linux and mac, shows that attention is starting to go to them.

But this will also have a good effect on making Linux Devs actively work on the OS more, got to see the little good out of the bad. And about the Mac, over priced hardware.... *rant* should have enough money to resolve the minor bumps along the way as it's not yet mainstream but one can only imagine this is the start of more things to come.

OS X must considered to have an antivirus installed, as viruses were spread rapidly.

For Linux its still in a low chance infection rate but not immune.
