They won't do much damage even if they do try, as I'm sure Facebook have the structure in place to handly the biggest DDOS attacks going... assuming that's how they're gonna hurt them. As cannot see them all of a sudden gaining access to anything more serious...??

They would probably gain more enemies than friends by taking down facebook.

I do have a facebook account, i actually disabled it because i didn't use it anyway, but then spotify came along and because they got married to facebook they made me reactivate my account. :dodgy:

Couldn't agree more.....Facebook is powered by a serious infrastructure so even thinking that Annon could ever DDoS them is pure madness.....
When I see this type of messages I can't stop myself from laughing...Now I'm waiting a message from Annon saying that it was all a mistake.

A look at the fully-packed racks inside a Facebook data center facility.

Recently Facebook has announced that will open-source its data centers and servers...

Even if they were taken down, the amount of their on site people would probably have it up in a matter of minutes

I don't think they will be able to 'shut it down'.

BUT I do believe they could do some damage.. like to where pages take forever to load etc... Nothing to serious or long.. IMO

I

illumination

I just do not see it happening! Judging by the strain that is already on Facebook servers, from so many people that have accounts, it would take a massive DDOS attack to even phase them a little..

Yea, maybe they would steal some information that would probably be the worst outcome though

who wants to hack my FB too?
first, I used "instead of" English language and using acronyms for the info and others. Second, I protect my FB (privacy settings)

Good for umbra :)
hehe.

Got my new Facebook account locked down too so hackers will probably obtain from little to no information about me.

Oh please, probably just some kids who claim they're from Anonymous and in their crave for attention, decided to put out a false threat about "shutting down" FB.
Maybe they'll try a DDoS, but will probably end in utter failure and them being tracked down.
