With the advent of the Internet of Things, we’re lucky to have researchers looking into these devices and pointing out the need for securing them better. One of these researchers is Kaspersky Lab’s Denis Legezo, who took it upon himself to map the traffic sensors in Moscow and see whether they could be tampered with.

The answer to that question is yes, they can be manipulated, and consequently lead to poor traffic management and annoyance at best, and at worst situations that endanger both drivers and pedestrians.

The Internet of Things (IoT) yes but what is the point?

The low level of protection of the IoT, also in the public administration and the difficulty to verify whether the objects have been compromised, allow attackers to transform these objects that are accessible via the Internet, in bots, ready to perform a series of actions how to share sensitive data, activate actuators, or modify sensors, with dangerous consequences.

Cybercriminals cheer!

The fragmentation of this technology, few standards and the lack of precise guidelines determine an absence of the requirements of security and privacy that the IoT must necessarily satisfy.

The security problem of the IoT must be absolutely resolved.

Actually as we adopt continuously on such fast pacing generation, security became a least and unimportant deal for them which must not remove on the priority.

Remember that internet connection becomes wider and broader in the sense that you can access anywhere and anytime, so expect numerous attacks.
