Welcome to Malware Tips, David.
Kindly follow kram7750's link, where I saw someone also posted about their own trouble with the "Fake Google process".
There, you and your Dad will receive individual assistance.
Keep in mind, you must begin your own thread. Directions pertaining to each member is meant solely for their own system and malware infection. Although you may browse the threads, you must begin your own after familiarizing yourself with what you shall post.
Good luck, and your Dad has a thoughtful son who's now an active member of this awesome community!:D

Hi Welcome to MT! If you click our malware section as I often do, you will find a lot of members with Chrome problems.
I too am not allowed to help you with malware. We have the best malware fighters in the world that will help you!
IMHO uninstall Chrome and use a different browser until Chrome finds the answer to why their browser is being attacked. Then let TwinheadedEagal and Argus clean your Dad's PC
There are many with your Dad's problem!;)
