I'm looking forward to advice and help with my computer protection questions. This is the first time I have joined a forum/blog site so I'm anxious to see how well it works for me. In my Windows Action Center a Maintenace Message requested that I update my K7 Total Security. I have Kapersky Security and, to my knowledge, have never downloaded K7. Any comments or suggestions?

Well K7 Security is a legitimate antivirus product and if you install alongside with Kaspersky then it may cause conflicts or double notification in action center.

Thanks to all for your welcome. Knowing that multiple antivirus products can cause conflict is why I posted on this site. While searching on other sites I found comments that K7 had been installed automatically during Microsoft 8.1 installation/update. True or not, I intend to uninstall the K7 by using an uninstall tool offered as a freeware download on TechSpot and created by K7 Total Security. Unless, of course, there are reasons to approach the solution differently.
My next education endeavor is to learn more about registry cleaning and driver updates. Should I use Microsoft tools only or should I invest in one of the many apps for these tasks?
