Hi All

Been looking for help in this forum for years now without registering an account.

I hope to get some help and to provide some.

I might have run across a new ransomeware and I don't know where to post. At the moment I only have a bunch of encrypted files and don't know the source. The encrypted files has an e-mail appended to the filename.

I work as a tech for hire to small businesses who don't have a fulltime IT departement. The last weeks a couple of customers have been infected by the infamous cryptolocker virus but been able to restore the latest backup. This is the largest virus attack I have seen since "Love Letter". This must be organized crime...

If the small businesses you are helping, and you, are searching for a preventive against further exposure to Cryptolocker educating the people who are clicking on links or attatchments may help. A virtualization program such as Sandboxie www.sandboxie.com may help, or perhaps Shadow Defender Shadow Defender - the easiest PC/laptop security and privacy protection tool

Before coming here, I'd read a thread by one of our Trusted Members, cruelsister, about a forthcoming program being developed to prevent these kinds of infections WinAntiRansom PLUS
