Welcome!
Were you using Microsoft Security Essentials when you got the infection?
I know what you mean! Had a stepson who would click on everything. Thanks.Yes It is always running in background... My concern is teenagers visiting while I was away god only knows where they went lol

Hello! Be very family MT.
Hope you enjoy and will learn many things!
Well if you're concern about the browsing habits of your children, then install K9WebProtection, a FREE Parental Control and Web Filter.

If you want a better antivirus, which is free and light, you could try Avast Free or 360 Internet Security.

Update: I would not hold MSE to blame which has been, until recently, the active AV on our Windows 7 SP 1 for over 2 years. We've not been infected, ..but then again that's without teenagers in the house!Yes It is always running in background... My concern is teenagers visiting while I was away god only knows where they went lol
It is nice meeting you too, LadyFae. We're also very glad you found Malware Tips, so we can, in turn, welcome you while inviting our newest member to enjoy the limitless possibilities now open to you. IE: It's Fun & educational here, making it quite the paradox!
We'll, (somewhat) as the old saying goes:
"When LadyFae's away the teenagers will play!"
By the K9WebProtection, I do not only mean filter from porn or the like, but also from phishing, malware and spyware links. It is very light and updates frequently on the cloud via its WebPulse.Thank you ifacedown
