Depends on the Country you are in: Here in Germany we have the institution IHK - They Academically advance your expertise. Example: - IT-Sicherheitsbeauftragter = IT security officer (State Approved degree) - Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration = Specialist for system integration (Trainee Job for 3 Year to complete and you receive that Title and are also recognized in all branches of Business here in Germany) [Dual-System] 50% Job and 50% Specialized School for that Branch of Study The other part is high class Certification with continued enrollment / credits CISSP - CISSA - CISM by ISC² those are quite a handful and you need to have pre-requisites to be acknowledged the Title! CompTIA A+ and Security+ Cisco CCNA Are a good starting point but to advance more in to the Security you need experience in the field. Then advance with that knowledge to higher horizons. There is almost no amount of videos that can replace on the field use. Like this the Theory learned can be applied properly and a project never goes as planned ;) Sincerely Val. P.S. I myself am: IHK Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration IHK Ausbilder ADA [Allowed to Train in my Profession] Instructor IHK Prüfer [A part of the Examination staff for branch of specialization] So I can speak of Experience here in Germany and what Company's look for here :D
