Welcome back. This is my first time joining a cybersecurity forum after 30 years in the field. I am interested in a Cybersecurity skill tree. How do we get started?

Welcome back. This is my first time joining a cybersecurity forum after 30 years in the field. I am interested in a Cybersecurity skill tree. How do we get started?

First, I want the fully secure my own system.

Then I want to launch a small server maybe on an old laptop or a smartphone and we can start testing vulnerabilities on it and try to harden it.

Then long-term I'm thinking a honeypot so I can research attackers.
