Hey guys, nice place you got here...lots of good reading. Thx for letting me in.

Some here already know me. For those that don't; I'm a researcher who has been actively involved in the pri/sec community since 98. While my interests are quite varied, my expertise include;
DC Administration
Fuzzing-penetration testing
Web Services-diagnostics and forensics
Malware Delivery Methodology

@ Admin: BTW and slightly OT; On sites I trust(including this one), admin can easily follow my actions via the user agent; Mikey/0.02 [fu] (Win67; X; SK)
If you are an 'admin', you wont need to ask why that can be handy. :)

Anyway, thx for providing such a nice resource.

Hi there, welcome to the forums.

One question (im curious here), aint Fuzzing-penetration testing equivalent to the Fuzz testing for memory leaks detection etc?

Thx for the welcomes.

In as much as an attack on an application, I'm thinking the answer is yes. :) EDIT: Perhaps more similar than equivalent.

Hello and welcome to MalwareTips.

Hope that you enjoy your stay.

The first stop that we recommend is the PC Security Configuration Wizard so that we can give you feedback on your configuration.

Have a look around the forum. You will learn quite a few new things here ;)

Once again welcome :)

Thx for the warm welcome guys.

How did you manage to find malwaretips.com?

I don't really know. I'm sorry to say that I've been lurking for quite some time. I'm sure I just followed a link/s somewhere...probably from one of the ASAP sites or similar. At some point MT wound up on the favs. :)

PC Security Configuration Wizard

That seems to be a popular suggestion. Thx. Well, unless someone here wants to discuss a rule set prob for a Snort/APF implementation on a RHE host, I'm quite happy with all sys now. Is there a purpose for the procedure I'm not aware of?

We just like to know how other members protect their system so we may learn or give advices.

It is so that we can get an idea of how you protect your computer and make some suggestions.

Snort is a network intrusion prevention and detection system, a kind of network "HIPS" to be simple.

The PC Security Configuration Wizard isn't mandatory, nor are there any procedures. Except to accept the Forum Rules. :)

I see. Seems like a healthy service. Helping folks stay safe, secure, and functional is always a worthy endeavor. Ya'll do it with a friendly atmosphere.

However, I think I'm more likely to be found in discussions revolving around malicious web issues and/or safe practices.

Anyway, I hope to be able to add my insights as I learn from yours. Thx again.
