Hello all. Hong Kong cyber punk here. I lived in America for a while. My mother is Chinese-American, my father English. Lived in the San Fernando valley for 12 years.

I am a Harvey Mudd student. Engineering. I don't know. Maybe I switch to Computer Science and Computational Biology.

Like MatLab, trying different software, security.

As someone so astutely pointed out, yes, I'm back in the U.S. studying. Flew out of Chek Lap Kok and arrived here early August. Classes started Sept 3rd.

So yes, I am a US citizen now officially residing in Hong Kong. My father is a Hong Kong citizen by birth. My mother is both Chinese and American.

Welcome to MT. Please enjoy what you find here. (y)

Did you ever get high with Frank Zappa ? I wonder what it would be like.
G'day @zhuzhangspankspank ,

Welcome to MalwareTips!

I couldn't agree more with your comment on gaming. I'm a recovering “game-a-holic” so I understand where you're coming from.

I hope you find plenty of information, advice and good friendships here.

All the best from South Australia!

Cheers,

@TRS-80 :cool: (y):emoji_beer:

In high school it was a terrible addiction among many students. That and the phone.

Frank Zappa is like a national folk hero, right ?

In California and Hong Kong there are gamer addict rehabs.

Video game addiction rehab costing parents tens of thousands of dollars. Like $30,000 to $40,000 USD per month. And that is for the poor kids. Rich kids go to the $200,000 per month ones.

An axe through the gaming console finally sorted me out.

The fizzing and sparks were more fun than the games. It did take a while to lose the stench of smouldering circuit boards though. :giggle:

Take care,

@TRS-80 :p

Some parents take away the consoles. As if that is gonna stop the addict. :X3:

Then months later when they realize the kid is still in full-blown video madness and getting Fs in all classes, they take the actions they should have done months prior - like lock the kid in a padded room and throw away the key.

The axe seems to be cheaper, extremely effective and reasonably permanent(unless you're a jigsaw fan.)

Added bonus: No key to throw away. No imprisoned weaner to feed and toilet.

I've seen prisoners literally destroy a padded cell at the police lock-up. Very untidy indeed!

You have a good sense of humour Mate!

Cheers,

@TRS-80 :eek:
