I Would Suggest You To use The Softwares Given Below - (All These Software Must Be Up To Date)

Real Time Protection: Avast Free Antivirus.
On Demand Scanner: MalwareBytes Anti-Malware Free,Eset Online Scanner, Norton Power Eraser & Spyware Terminator.
Addons: AdBlock Plus, Ghostery & WOT.
Others: Process Hacker.
FireWall: Comdo Firewall.

1. Never use Any Applications That are Not Trusted.
2. If You Ever Think That The Website You are Using currently is Harmful Check The Link For Viruses on - http://safeweb.norton.com/

What about other free AVs (last year avast 6 wouldn't work for me so I used another AV), Browsers, Why not submit the link to VirusTotal? Spyware Terminator is a Anti-Spyware Realtime (Free ($40 per year for F-Prot engine)) application if I recall correctly. What about SUPER AntiSpyware and Emsisoft AntiMalware Freeware for On-Demand.

Why Avast free you have other options that you can pick, like CO-MO-DO Internet Security, MSE, AVG. For some paid ones that you can get that I would recommend are Trend Micro, ESET, Comodo Internet Security (recommeded for advanced users), Avast Internet Security.

Your list is too narrow minded, but it's your preference to what to use and how you use them. I for one, would not use Spyware Terminator.

It's quite pointless say what to use, or recommend when the list of free security is almost endless. Don't forget about using Linux as one, to avoid Windows malware.

Thanks :D

Well Avast is an ok product for being free so no problems for it.

The thing were knowledge and current combination would prevent those things.

NPE (Norton Power Eraser) must be kept in emergency since its known for aggressive heuristics and using for daily purpose may flagged legitimate files.

Other scanners can be storage for needs too when two current scanners failed itself.

MBAM and HMP were likely to be good as second opinion.

I think that almost every member of our forum agrees that a backup solution should be part of every security config.

From Windows Vista or 7, creating a System Image has been recommended by Windows after first installation.

Edit: It might have been create a recovery disk otherwise.

Completely agree a backup solution is one of the most important things to secure your files in case of a disaster. Besides of just backing up your files, be sure to backup bookmarks for your browsers or use the online sync to save them to your account. I recommend using an external hard drive, I don't trust online backup services.

Keeping your Windows disc in a safe place just in case you need to do a repair or reinstall of Windows.

Unlike many users here who get infected spend many hours or days reading removal guides and using all of the known good removal tools, I can reinstall Windows have it completely setup with Windows Updates, programs and files restored in a fraction of the time and with much less work. The system is guarantee to be 100% clean. With removal processes you really never know if anything else is still larking on your system undetected. As many times as I have recovered systems, it is much easier for me.

Thanks.:D

Unless you are very unlucky and you caught those nasty bios malwares (forgot the name) that infect your MBR each time you restore your system. :D

With most image backup solutions the MBR gets backed up as well and as long as your image is clean you can get rid of boot rootkits as well.
