How do I stop this resourceful spammer?

It's the Russian Viagra crew after me. In Outlook Express I had great success against them using Create Rule from Message and Block Sender to send them straight to Delete. But now they are getting trickier. They thwart Create Rule from Message by using a different misspelling in every email in both the subject line and the text. They thwart Block Sender by sending them using my own email address!

Is there any way to configure my way out of this, or do I need to add an anti-spam program? My internet company does some filtering, and I constantly have to retrieve plenty of good emails from trusted sources from its daily spam yield. So I'm wary of adding more outside filtering.

OK, he's got a link in the text that may be the same over and over, so I blacklisted that shortcut. We'll see if that helps.

Yea, I've got to decide on a new email. I prefer freestanding applications over webmail. I want something where a big portion of the interface is actually allotted to the email itself. You get that with OE but not with Windows Live. Suggestions are very welcome.

I do wonder if Microsoft has actually done any supporting of OE for a very long time.

A new Outlook.com account isn't too bad either, plus it opens may areas of a Windows 8 PC that require a Microsoft account, such as Store and Xbox Music (free streaming) & Videos. Skype calls from Outlook.com.

You could import all your mail to a folder, or set-up forwarding from your old account.

Appearance of Outlook.com in IE. With an ad-blocker the right-column can be hidden, or used for Twitter and Facebook feeds. Ads are non-intrusive and do not scan your mail.

You can create up to 5 Alias account per year, make them your primary or delete them without losing your account.

When you upgrade to Windows 7 or 8, say Goodbye! to Outlook Express.

I had the same problem with spammers many years back, I been using email since Windows 95 and have several accounts.
I moved to Gmail and imported all of my other email accounts except Yahoo which doesn't allow imports on their free accounts, so I just abandoned it. The spam problem almost completely went away. Gmail has excellent spam filters and rarely puts good emails in Trash (Junk Mail Folder). I know some users are paranoid about using Google products but Gmail is best that I have tried. Other email services either have poor spam filters or put your good emails into Spam folders.

Yes I get all of my email from all other accounts on Gmail.
