I don't understand the whole "Online Banking" notion I see in these topics of comparing which AV/Suite to use.

Example:
1. http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Kaspersky-vs-Trend-Micro
2. http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Comodo-IS-vs-F-Secure-IS
3. http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Internet-Security-for-Online-banking-Computer

Any explanation is appreciated. :D

In my understanding, Online Banking which literally comes on suites have to deal on protection during transactions from the sites in related.

Like virtual keyboard, virtualization, and etc... As AV deals for prevention against malware/viruses then suites are more for itself that covers.

as James said, Banking mode are mostly, virtual interface/keyboard, DNS checking by whitelists, restricted browsers, etc...

I rely on Keyscrambler, and a quick HitMan Pro scan prior to ALL transactions.
Accessing websites while sandboxed helps too, so when you close your password, even though encrypted and useless, is wiped from view of malware ops.
If I don't run sandboxed, I run CCleaner and TFC immediately after I log out of my bank or store sites.
I don't know if it makes a bit off difference to do it that way, but it is the way I have always done it.
I have a bunch of crazy Firefox add-ons to assist as well.

Firegloves, HTTPS Everywhere, NoScript, and Request Policy come to mind.

As you all know, I use no suite on this computer, nor do I use a traditional firewall. I only use TF L5 and Sandboxie with some wicked intelligence gatherers and on-demand scanners.
