I had nothing to do, so I wanted to just test people's security conciousness. Answer each question with the answer closest to what you do and the levels of consciousness will be posted at the end. Ready... set... go!

1. If CryptoLocker pops up on your computer, what would you do?

A. Oh no! Better bring a technician in!
B. I'll just fix it myself, no problem
C. I'll post in the Malware Removal Assistance and wait for help
D. Nooooooo! I'm going to pay the ransom right away!

2. When an ad pops up advertising free antivirus, what would you do?

A. Auughh. Time for a repair at the repair shop!
B. Run a scan, disconnect this... wait... repair this disconnect this...
C. Post in Malware Tips and wait for an answer
D. Yes! I'll just get it!

3. If you see a site blocked by ESET, what would you do?

A. Yikes! I'm paying for customer service!
B. Oh, whoops. Go back. Scan. Allright, 1 trojan, clean.
C. Let me check with my IT professional
D. Who cares, I'm going no matter what!

4. When a popup pops up saying your browser is infected and need to buy their antivirus...

A. Oh No! I'm calling the repair shop
B. Okay, download this, scan, clean, scan, clean...
C. Hey @Cowpipe how to remove this?
D. I'll just buy it, who cares!

5. What is your first website that you go to when you get infection?

A. Tech Repair Shop/Antivirus Technical Support
B. Malware Tips Blog to remove sites
C. Free malware removal site or Malware Tips Forum
D. Nothing, I'm just waitin' it out! Oh, and maybe a crack or two to get the fake AV working...

Levels Of Consciousness:

If You Got Letter A Most: You are very protective of your computer and pay for the best support
If You Got Letter B Most: You like to get things dirty yourself and do everything free
If You Got Letter C Most: You still like getting free support, but like to rely on others to clean your computer
If You Got Letter D Most: Seriously, do you even belong here? :p
Post what you got if you want to!

Well I always have clean PC and most of the time I know what I am doing.
I never visit bad sites and never install worthless software. Always scan USB before using it and autoplay is disabled.

So why pay extra just for security :p so yes- "I like to get things dirty myself and do everything free". Only thing I paid for my windows and office :p. Because I needed them badly :D

I have 3 Pitbull AV's on watch for me. I don't even download much from even once Trusted Download sites as they bundle almost everything with Crudware... they have went over to the Darkside IMO.:(

I download anything I feel like downloading, I am extremely click-happy, if I get malware I leave it there or deal for Emsisoft to get rid of it because im far too lazy to do it manually... Yeah.

I've been click happy for years, everything has worked out great.

I got a B. The last time I called an antivirus company to solve my problem was years ago. They said it would be $150 to continue the call. Politely hung up and went to my friend google.:D

My answers are as follows, and why I voted D.

1. If CryptoLocker pops up on your computer, what would you do?
B. I'll just fix it myself, no problem

2. When an ad pops up advertising free antivirus, what would you do?
D. Yes! I'll just get it!
Real Answer: Ignore it.

3. If you see a site blocked by ESET, what would you do?
D. Who cares, I'm going no matter what!
Real Answer: Ignore it, or leave site. If I don't download anything, I'm reasonably safe.

4. When a popup pops up saying your browser is infected and need to buy their antivirus...
B. Okay, download this, scan, clean, scan, clean...
Real Answer: Same as #2.

5. What is your first website that you go to when you get infection?
D. Nothing, I'm just waitin' it out! Oh, and maybe a crack or two to get the fake AV working...
Real Answer: Same as #1.

Truth to be said i have not yet come across a malware related problem that i could not fix, and to be more precise as far as my memory serves me the computer itself within the network as i did have it set up and still have set up has not yet encountered a problem that did require my attention, other then reading the log to see the outcome of the automatic predefined actions taken by the system.

1. This would be the first instance I'll be able to see a Cryptolocker in action
2. Which AV? If it's Avira I'll just disable it, others I'll just minimize the exposure time
3. Not an ESET fan
4. I'll get rid of it my way my style
5. Avast to download signature update only if and only if I can't remove it manually using regedit, CMD and taskman. Plus I have many tricks up my sleeve.

Sorry, if my profile don't fit the ABCD answers

Imagine if malware came with an age warning, like movies...

"The following Malware has been rated PG13. It may contain some payloads of a sexual nature. Removal should be supervised by a parent or guardian"

Great test by the way, I got a B, though I'd prefer a C or maybe an M? Mooo :D

Oeps forgot the questions well lets see what would happen if mister crypto comes along..

1. If CryptoLocker pops up on your computer, what would you do?
Take a hot cup of coffee, smoke a sigaret and offer Cryptolocker a coffee and a sigaret to.
Start a conversation with Cryptolocker then watch the clock and see that the session wipe is due to happen and say to cryptolocker:
Thank you for visiting my computer i hope you enjoyed as you have now exactly 5 seconds left before you are history.

2. When an ad pops up advertising free antivirus, what would you do?
Start laughing really hard.

3. If you see a site blocked by ESET, what would you do?
Start wondering why ESET is blocking a page while i do not have ESET installed

4. When a popup pops up saying your browser is infected and need to buy their antivirus...
Start laughing even harder

5. What is your first website that you go to when you get infection?
malwaretips.com

The other way around. Parents supervised by their computer savvy kids.
