I tried opening chrome x64 in sandboxie and got bombarded by error messages.
Sandboxie 5.10

I am running windows 10 x64 stable build.
security config:
windows defender
windows firewall
HitmanPro.Alert
SecureAPlus

when I installed sandboxie, it detected HMP.A and applied appropriate settings.

i run it with SBIE and w10 64 bit with no problems. now i use ff anyway.
oh wait. maybe they are popups related to settings: can you post SBIE code of those errors?
did you allow only chrome.exe to access internet?

here is one message:
SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - chrome.exe [FF000000]
SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - chrome.exe [FF000000]
here is another time:
SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - chrome.exe [FF000000]
SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: *GUIPROXY_00000001 - chrome.exe [FF000000]

looks like the same thing twice.
anyways, I did not manually restrict internet access for any process.

here Sandboxie - SBIE Messages allo messages codes.
anyway you can esaly click "hide" and they will never appear again.
oh: if you allowed only chrome.exe to access the internet, tick out(in the same window of the settings) "show 1307 message when access denied"

so they give the following explanation for my error:
Message: SBIE2203 Failed to communicate with Sandboxie Service: detail

Logged To: Popup Message Log.

Explanation:

The Sandboxie DLL component executing within the sandboxed program needs to communicate with the Sandboxie service component (SbieSvc). This message indicates that some communication failure has occurred.

When detail is connect, the likely reason is that the Sandboxie service is not running.

Any other value of detail indicates that communication has been established, but could not be completed, due to some error.

Craig from Invincea wants me to give up on my security config so that this error message from sandboxie will go away.
But I am not sure the problem is so serious. I hid the error message, so it won't bother me, and I see the yellow border around chrome, and downloaded files are being successfully sandboxed.

Is there a reason not to run chrome in sandboxie under these conditions, if I don't see any actual problems jumping out at me?
I would prefer not to disable protection, if I don't have to.

I get the same error message with Opera, HitmanPro.Alert and Sandboxie x64.

When I disable the exploit-protection of HMP.A (only for the browser) everything is fine.

that was it.
So browser doesn't need exploit protection when sandboxed?
I know sandboxing protects you from malware coming in, but you still want to keep your passwords from filtering out.

okay, now that we have nailed the problem, let's start nagging the hitman devs to fix it.
there are other people complaining about it on the sandboxie forum.
It's a known problem.

Hide it when the popup show up. it is a known issue.

I would report it on the Sandboxie forum. Curt from Invincea will surely reply to your post.

@shmu26

I don't have chrome but I use Iron x64 and Avira Scout (both chromium browsers) and I can start both over right click "start in sandbox" (my standard browser is firefox) without any problem.

I know this was not you question but maybe this is a way to use a chromium browser in sandboxie for the moment.
