Facebook plans to launch a payment system to compete with services like Venmo, the company announced Nov. 12.
Facebook Pay will expand on the company's services allowing users to shop, donate to causes and send money to each other on Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp.

This payment system being implemented by Facebook is opening a can of worms!!! This will allow cyber criminals just another way to exploit the user.

Not forcibly a bad thing if serious and strict security is implemented (i bet they can), in China most people use Wechat (the most popular messenger app) as online payment medium (in a way similar to Paypal).

The root of the problem is always the careless users, with or without this Facebook payment system, they were getting abused already (to give credentials or download keyloggers) and will still be abused.

Which business doesn't? not many.
Lying or not has no impact of how the system should function. If it is certified, secure and work as intended , it will not be worse than Paypal or other online payment system.
If people use Google or Samsung Pay or whatever online wallets, they won't have any issues using FB one.
Not saying if you are smart enough , you won't put all your money in it or any online payment systems.

As i said all is about the user's disposition and habits.
