help i just got this computer and it is full of malware and or most of the programs dont work

Download and run Malwarebytes Chameleon, and then Emsisoft Emergency Kit. Most of viruses should be cleared with both of these AntiMalwares.

Not really "new" is it, if it's full of malware and the programmes don't function the way they are supposed to

If it's new (to you) then of course there aren't your important documents in it, just format it & re install operating system, set it the way you like or wait & set it after 29th once windows 10 is released

Do you've a super fast internet? If so, download kaspersky rescue 10 iso and burned it to USB or CD(Outdated but I still use them) and boot it to remove all malwares w/o getting into Windows.
Scans will take a few hours, though.

as other users suggested if it is new for you then those files on the HD are pretty much useless to you, then you can format. If you dont want to do that then you can use emsisoft emergency kit to clean the pc, also i will assume that those "malware infection" are indeed PUP so adwcleaner and junkware removal tool may do the job for you however chances are that pc will become unstable at some point so if you are really facing a heavy mal-soft infection you must format your pc :/

Repairing those programs especially which are 3rd party are totally painful, so better give a fresh start. Since you got that computer then a first attitude for a user is to reformat.

As for me, the best way is format a hard disk and then install OS. As you mentioned above it is a ,,new,, computer and you don't have anything to lose like files, photos and others.

It's a pain and time consuming to do repair, best solution is to format the whole system.
