(Reuters) -International Business Machines Corp expects to pause hiring for roles as roughly 7,800 jobs could be replaced by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the coming years, CEO Arvind Krishna told Bloomberg News on Monday.
Hiring specifically in back-office functions such as human resources will be suspended or slowed, Krishna said, adding that 30% of non-customer-facing roles could be replaced by AI and automations in five years.

Yeah, well IBM passed on the Fax machine when offered it, passed on Inkjet printers when offered it and sold PC-DOS to Bill Gates for $50k because they saw no value in the OS side of PC's, so they're pretty good at making tech based decisions.

IBM already has A.I. thingy in Watson that has never gone anywhere. IBM buys what's hot then integrates it and then it's never heard from again.
