Trellix adaptive threat prevention is insanely good, like realllly good. It was the only AV to detect a custom made python malware that was undetected by many AVs, so is there any free alternatives for just that, its basically a VERY robust comodo

Indeed, Trellix ENS is highly effective. However, free alternatives like Avast, AVG, and Avira offer decent protection. They might not match Trellix in terms of advanced threat detection, but they are good for basic security needs.

their ens product uses mcafee engines, maybe you can get what you want from mcafee home products although its paid but i think it's the closest thing

FOR REAL. super good when configured correctly but trellix ENS is WAY too heavy, i could notice slowdowns on a high end system
Trellix was heavy in my machines as well good to know it's not just my experience and others have the same issue

But I wonder if macafee is light as everyone says it's light and if so way is trellix different?

It seems that the ens version of trellix doesn't use the new and improved mcafee cloud based av

Among popular free solutions only Comodo can apply auto-containment.
Trellix uses a file reputation similar to that of ISG used in Windows Defender Application Control. So, any popular free AV + WDAC ISG can provide similar protection, except for attacks via Python scripts (also LUA or some other exotic script engines).

The amount of FP with Trellix DAC is insane. That's the biggest downfall.

Hi Andy...
So I am assuming, you are just being nice and answering his question, when you listed CFW. It's not that you're recommending it, for him or others to rely upon. Or did I read this wrong?
