That's a shock for ESET, 3rd lowest for Protection.

Surprisingly for McAfee as the rating in protection were tied by other security products too. MSE still got low protection however it managed to brought back for Repair and Usability.

Likely some of the AV's didn't reached from the industry average thus the protection score on others were low.
