K7 is an Indian publisher, well known in its home country but gradually beginning to make a name for itself internationally. In fact, having already tested the Ultimate Security version, I decided to try out its inferior version. Let's have a look! User interface : The K7TS interface has nothing in common with Ultimate Security. It has evolved little but remains sober and uncluttered. K7 is relatively light on the system. Web protection: 15/15 K7 features high-performance Web filtering, blocking directly at the source. All URLs have been blocked. Fake crack : 1/1 K7 stops all files installed by my fake crack. Malware Pack : Remaining 36 files out of 110. K7's anti-malware engine is pretty average. During launch, K7 removes several pieces of malware thanks to its behavioral protection, and it does so very well! However, K7 still needs to improve its script detection, which remains very weak, and malware has still managed to infect the system (as can be seen from the fact that one piece of malware injected VMware Tools, which bugged my Host-VM control). Final scan : K7 : 0 Malwarebytes : 4 NPE : 3 KVRT : 5 Final opinion: K7 is an antivirus that has evolved in one direction, but is regressing in another. On the one hand, I've noticed a nice improvement in the Web blocking provided by the antivirus. The blocking was very effective, given that K7 blocks at source. Its behavioral protection also got a boost, blocking several Trojan installations before infection. It is also much more reactive. Nevertheless, K7 regresses in script detection, where the editor has made no effort... The anti-malware section is also down, as too much malware is not blocked. I won't give an opinion on it, but if you're going to use it, make sure your surfing isn't at risk. @anirbandutta01 request
