You can update it via the VPN, and just don't do stupid stuff. Update it 2 times a day or 24 times a day, only takes a few seconds.

This is what many US peoples are doing, per their posts on the web.

They had or have purchased global licenses from all over the world, including the UK and Canada.

Seems reasonable to me, and they aren't wasting their license, and they are using their FREEDOM of choice.
