Laptop internal hard drive partition low disk space problem

I don’t know whether I come to the right place to ask my question. I really hope you guys can give me some suggestions. In fact, in this morning, when trying to install a new interesting game on my laptop, a notice stopped me and told me that the C partition was in low disk space and this game could not be installed there. I had met the same problem yesterday. What should I do now, if I still want to play this game on my laptop? How can I extend the space of this C partition? Simply buy another drive? Thank you for any advice!

1)Uninstall programs that you don't use anymore in order to gain disk space;
2)Use disk cleaning utility like CCleaner or Wise Disk Cleaner;

how many drives do you have?

You can install the game in any other partitions where you have enough space. If you don't have space in any drive then you need to clean up your data or buy more storage.

Hey, from my understanding, the ways for you to resolve this low disk space problem could be different according to your different conditions:

* If there is too unnecessary files or programs stored on this C partition, clean them all up to free some free space.

* If there is enough free space on other partition, like D, E or F partitions, you can open Disk Management, delete or shrink the partition with free space and add the free space to your C partition there.

* If the free space is not adjacent to your C partition, you also can use a partition resizing tool to extend this partition, like GParted, IM-Magic Partition Resizer Free and Active Partition Master, etc.

* But, if there is no any free space left on the same physical drive, just buy a larger one to replace the old one.

No matter what your conditions are, just save all partition data on other places in case of data loss.

OK! Have you tried to remove all useless files, folders and programs stored on this C partition? Does this way work in removing this low disk space problem?

If not, simply download some partition resizing tools to see whether you can add some free space to this partition without several clicks. You just need search reliable one to help you out.

But, if the software also makes no difference, your computer drive may not have enough physical space. Just change another larger drive for it.

Back up all partition data well.

Hi! This is tough to suggest a solution without seeing your C dive.
You could delete all but the most recent system restore. That could get you a lot of free space.

PS It's always good to post the make and model of your PC. Also what Operating System are you running!
It's never good to run your PC with not at least 25% of free space. It will cause you a lot of problems!
