I know that this has nothing to do with security but it's fun and it's Christmas :)

Merry Christmas from Valve! To celebrate the holidays in a special way this year, Valve is giving away Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam for free. Left 4 Dead 2 is a single-player and multiplayer co-operative survival horror FPS game developed by Valve Corporation, creators of the Half-Life, Portal, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike game properties. It is the sequel to Left 4 Dead, and was first announced June 1st 2009. With multiple multiplayer options both on and offline, extensive AI custom functionality, four character options, new melee weapons and more, Left 4 Dead 2 promises to become one of 2009′s best games and set a new benchmark for co-op centric action games.

Users have until 10am PST tomorrow, December 26th to claim the gift — all you need to do is install it and it is yours to keep forever for free. Additionally, to help spread the holiday cheer, all current players can earn the “Ghost of Christmas Present” achievement by helping a free holiday player survive a campaign. Claim you free copy right here.

Note: The store is overloaded though. I tried to claim a free copy but always get the error: Sorry. The Steam Community is currently unavailable. Please try again later. Error 503 Service Unavailable XID: 445165865

Littlebits is correct you have to have a steam account and have steam installed on your PC to get the game

Click on the promo page and click "install" on the Left4Dead 2 this will redirect you to a steam account login page
If you have an existing steam account then login or if not create a steam account.
Once you create a steam account ,you will see your account page and it will say
"Left 4 Dead 2 is now registered to your account on Steam."
"To access your new content, simply launch this game from your games list on Steam."

If you do not have steam installed on your PC click install steam from top right next to account name or in bottom of page.If you have a steam installed click "yes I have steam" and the game will download.

Once steam is installed open it and login once logged in you will see the download for the game
