And this is my recommendation for those who don't have money for paid security:
Comodo Firewall + Avira Free + ThreatFire ( + Immunet )
Excellent security and it's free !

i dont recommend Immunet, i used it long time and it is heavy (slow down the boot) without affording much more protection, Clam AV is very weak, the friends network feature is useless. and if you had Threatfire with it you have big loss of ressources.

An analyze of Threatfire : http://www.kernelmode.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=586

remember this is a thread of TRUSTED product, not a list of all products available ^^

Someday this will be mark as "Important Thread" so new users may consult first before they post a config.

yes that is why we must select only the best and very viable softwares, a too big list is not useful and new users (specially the beginners) will be lost.

Never heard of most of those products to be honest, I'll add Sophos to the list though, thanks.

Sophos and Private firewall are good products, but the rest are rubbish !

What is rubbish about Look 'n' Stop? I have read that Look 'n' Stop is a good "pure" firewall and it has its own section at Wilders Security Forums (meaning, it should be on this list, as well as Privatefirewall).

Why haven't you posted

F-Secure and G Data? like i suggested..

They are both amazing products and are trusted. I know F-Secure well, but not so much about G Data.
