Mac vs. PC: Windows Desktops Up to $535 More Expensive than Macs, IBM Says

Attending the Jamf Nation User Conference, IBM VP of Workplace as a Service Fletcher Previn explained how his company is switching from PCs to Mac, revealing that the migration started in mid-2015 and still continues these days. More than 90,000 Macs have already been deployed within IBM, Previn revealed, and the firm has every reason to be very pleased about this.

It turns out that over a four-year lifespan, IBM can reduce costs by up to $543 per every Apple system, only by giving up on PCs. Depending on the model they choose, each employee can help save between $273 and $543 per each system, the IBM official said.

“And this reflects the best pricing we've ever gotten from Microsoft,” Previn was quoted as saying by Jamf, while also adding that 73 percent of the IBM employees have already decided their next computer to be a Mac.

my organization have different view on these issue, we still choose PC for "just-work" task. PC is a lot cheaper than mac, and how about malware? back up and recovery is the ultimate security solution :p
We own mac (and expensive PC/laptop) just for highly specialized task (multi media editing, CAD drawing etc).

Let's go for practical.

PC (Windows) are still a good investment to conduct extensive task or such casual matter. However the problem here when computer viruses may cause hindrances because of lapses in the configuration.

Not all users or even experience ones; knows the necessity of tools for protection but it needs a little research. ;)

Meanwhile Macs, although expensive however very good investment since no worries about possible issues also you can perform those task like in the PC due to same program support.
