I was looking about how McAfee Real protect works (behavioral detection), and stumbled upon this informative video. It was posted a few months ago.

What is tested in this video is there Enterprise solution. Btw the guy talking must be a fan of ASMR ( Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response ).

@upnorth Yes it concerns mostly their enterprise solutions. But it gives some infos about the technology. I think it's not very far from the consumer products. For the guy's voice, lol, you may be right. He sounds more like a machine than human.

Real Protect detects malware in real-time based on how it dynamically behaves and not how it appears in the file system. This is like having a virtual anti-malware researcher on your PC.

So some sort of behaviour blocker. All this "Real Protect" thing just looks like a marketing trick to me, since it is already integrated in 2018 product line-up. According to some guy here, can't remember hes name, claimed at a time when he was working at McAfee, they were still heavily relying on signatures. I don't know what to believe. In a VM this 2018 product line-up is also not impressive looking vs some new malware.
